Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) said,“The best prayer after the obligatory prayers is the night prayer.” [Muslim]
If you ever prayed Tahajjud you will have experienced the following:
1.It’s all so Quiet: It’s 4 A.M in the morning, everyone else asleep, no cars moving about. It’s just you and Allah tonight!
2.Closeness to Allah(Literally): Looking at the sky and knowing that Allah is right there– on the lowest heaven;from his Arsh(The Throne),down seven skies, to ours.
Just this realization makes all your problems melt away into nothingness….just like this ice-cream here.
*sorry it melted away….into nothingness* 😛
3.Crying your heart out: Admit it, you made the effort to get up for Tahajjud ‘because’ you had a dire need which you want fulfilled by Allah and you know dua made at Tahajjud is like an arrow that doesn’t misses its target. You didn’t get up just to pray to Allah (unless you did). Now you make your ‘best’ pitch to Allah and cry like a baby, begging for your need to be fulfilled.
4.Suddenly Quran makes sense: Why is it that when I open a random page of English Translation Quran, it’s seems like it was written for me; so perfectly tailored for my current situation. Mind=Blown
5. Awed: Everyday…sorry.. everynight, Allah comes down to the lowest heaven and asks the whole of humanity “Who will call upon Me, that I may answer Him? Who will ask of Me, that I may give him? Who will seek My forgiveness, that I may forgive him?” and you are filled with a sense of awe that you were among the very few who responded back to Allah.
6. Conviction: that your Dua will be accepted. You know you have done your part and now you leave the rest to Allah.
7.Increased concentration/khushu: You recite your surahs at a relaxed pace, taking your own time, trying to understand the meaning of every word you utter out of your mouth….err…ever felt like a sloth?? 😛
8.Sense of Peace: You poured out everything thing to Allah, the all Hearer. You feel lighter. You can now sleep in peace. Tomorrow, it’ll all fall in place, Inshallah (If Allah Wills).
So that was 8 things I can definitely relate to when I pray tahajjud!
Tell me about yourself….any wish you had and it got fulfilled after you prayed and begged Allah during Tahajjud? Share your stories in the comments…..who knows you’ll inspire someone to just Bite the Bullet and go for it!!
